This website presents the findings of a three-year research project into Information Structure in the Languages of Northern Sarawak completed at the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics at the University of Oxford. The project contributed to the documentation and description of three indigenous languages of Northern Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo: Kelabit, Lun Bawang and Sa'ban. It also explored the role of information structure in motivating syntactic choices. Via this online platform, we hope to share audio and video materials in the languages, as well as linguistic analyses, with the Kelabit, Lun Bawang and Sa'ban communities, specialist linguists and other interested users.
The Principle Investigator on the project was Dr Charlotte Hemmings. It was funded by an Early Career Fellowship from the Leverhulme Trust.
